More AQC 2012

Visitors flocked into the entrance of the AQC as the doors opened each morning.
The Australasian Quilt Convention has become THE show for quilters and has gained recognition world-wide as one of the must attend shows.
Held in the World Heritage Building that Melbournians are so very proud of - The Royal Exhibition Building!  Note the architecture shown in some of my photographs.

As one of the Sponsors, I helped present goodies in our Punch with Judy bags to lucky delegates at the Delegates Official Welcome prior to the Show opening, presented with a lot of humour and cheekiness from Gary Fitz-Roy, Show Organizer, to over 200 excited quilters.
In case you're wondering what's on my head - Judy Newman snapped this photo of me for the AQC Facebook page showing my Scissorheads, much to John's disowning me!
It's all in the fun though!
We were fortunate to have had 3 special guest demonstrators at this year's AQC held in Melbourne last week.  On our "2nd" stand, designated to education on great Australian products that have been acclaimed world-wide, we had Leonie & Bill West demonstrating their range of Westalee Design Rulers, PLUS, Kym Goldup-Graham from The Sewing Revolution with her latest products, shown for the first time anywhere in the world at this very show!  How amazing and lucky we are to have such wonderful designers in our quilting fraternity?

View some of their designs on our stand, with a Runner-Up Quilt in the Westalee 2011 Competition made by Helen Sullivan.
The new products are able to be seen in our What's New? on my website.

Our main stand

Last post I promised you some better photos of the Best of Australia Quilt awarded to Merelyn Pearce - I am sure you will marvel at the work entailed and agree tis a worthy winner, though all State entries were spectacular.

More of other fabulous quilts coming!

Just a reminder that the Craft & Quilt Fair visits Tasmania next week.  See you at the Silverdome in Launceston from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th April.  We will be demonstrating all our new products on the Nifty Notions Stand as well as our normal Punch with Judy Stand.  Please visit the show, it's bigger than ever before and has lots of new Exhibitors as well as all the regulars.  Let me know if you wish something in particular brought to the Show as we travel by boat to Tassie so can't take all our little treasures!  Happy to oblige with special orders but let me know over this weekend.

Just released today, was the April "Into Craft" Newsletter in which I reviewed Clover's Wonder Clips, one of the best products for quilters but also for so many other uses.  Read about it here.
