Tassie quilters, you are to be congratulated - what a display!
So very thrilled for Helen Stubbings for winning the coveted BEST OF SHOW with her original quilt "CORNELIAN" made with Hexies (water soluble hexagon shapes, soon to be released on the market) and quilted by her sister Tracy Browning. The quilt won First Prize in the Traditional - Commercially Quilted section. Helen helps on the Punch with Judy Show Stand and has done so for more than a decade in 5 different States. We are so very proud of her progression.
Helen won a beautiful Bernina Sewing Machine and is indeed already a Bernina girl. Over the moon with excitement and not realizing till we told her just exactly what this win would mean in the coming 12 months.
Here are some close-ups so as you may marvel at the work involved.
First Prize in the Non-Traditional - Commercially Quilted section was awarded to Marie Goodall for her quilt "BEAUTY OF FLIGHT", quilted by Wendy Tomes.
Marie said this was her version of a design she downloaded from the internet.
We had some great quilts on display too - here's our Nifty Notions presentations on the INTO CRAFT stand.
Bill West from Westalee Design Rulers, our guest on our stand, gives an attentive audience some quilting tips during one of his 30 min demonstrations. All to be repeated in Melbourne at the end of this month too!
By the way, July's Into Craft E-Newsletter is now available.
My editorial this month is with tips on removing stains using some of my favourite products.
Thank you to everyone who visited the Craft & Quilt Fair.
