International Quilt Market Booths

The 2012 International Quilt Market at Houston, Texas, USA has just finished and we are now about to commence the Quilt Festival.  The former is a Trade Show and the latter is their Retail Show - I will report day by day as I have the chance to do so.  Congratulations to those Aussies who won awards which were announced today and, indeed, to ALL winners.

Let me show you what John may look like if I keep dragging him along on the gypsy show circuit!
This poor old guy was mechanical and had the shakes all day; I had to give him a hug.

One thing that amazed me was the effort and creativity of some exhibitors in how they set up their booths. There were so many fantastic ideas and I'd like to share just a few with you. The second thing that struck me was that there were so many displays featuring home decor and using patchwork fabric for room make-overs and for garments both for children and adults.

Ever thought what you can do with all your Jelly Rolls?  These are new ones from Moda that were released at the show displayed on one of the individual booths.  These certainly were a show crowd stopper.

What about decorating your caravan inside and out ready for your next holiday?  Another definite crowd stopper!

Tins of paint on top of pillars in each corner of this booth highlighted the new colour palette of that company's new fabric range.  Even the covers on the chairs within the booth had paint oozing down the fabric.

For your next outdoor function, maybe you would like to make a huge quilt but in four sections and use it as an outdoor canopy?  What a brilliant piece of work, really!  Just look at the booth structure - incredible.  It really is a quilt in four sections; take a look at the closeup photo. All suspended.

I will show you more next blog.  In the meantime, a reminder that the Craft & Quilt Fair will be held in Adelaide next week from Thursday 8th till Sunday 11th November at the Adelaide Showgrounds from 10.00am until 4.30pm daily.  I have a few Complimentary Entry Tickets which you could win by emailng me your name and address with the answer to the following.  Name three products Punch with Judy will be demonstrating on the Nifty Notions Stand for Into Craft.

Another reminder that the class bookings for the AQC in Melbourne from 18th - 21st April 2013 will go live on Monday 5th November at 10.00am Sydney time (Daylight Saving time).
