HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013

MAY I WISH ALL MY READERS A VERY HAPPY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR FOR 2013!

A friend recently sent me the following thinking my readers would find interest in same and I'm sure you will.  I thank her for this and followed it through, noting that it comes from another blogger but originally from images circulating quite freely, so I'm assured it is okay to share with you too.

Snow Quilts...

Now we know how Crop Circles are really created!
We also now know why artists are so different than anybody else.
How a person can accomplish something so geometrically perfect,
while creating it only a few feet away from the actual project?
People with this talent are very few and very far between...
It borders on real 'genius'....Keep scrolling…

Man Walks All Day to Create Spectacular Snow Patterns.

Artist Simon Beck must really love the cold weather!  Along the frozen lakes of Savoie, France, he spends days plodding through the snow in raquettes (showshoes), creating these sensational patterns of snow art.  Working for 5 - 9 hours a day, each final piece is typically the size of three soccer fields!  The geometric forms range in matchematical patterns and shapes that creat stunning, sometimes 3D, designs when viewed from higher levels.  How long these magnificent geometric forms survive is completely dependent on the weather.  Beck designs and redesigns the patterns as new snow falls, sometimes unable to finish a piece due to significant overnight accumulations.

"The main reason for making them was because I can no longer
run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on
level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise.
Gradually, the reason has become photographing them and I
am considering buying a better camera". - Simon Beck

Spectacular art for the sake of exercise!
Beauty in the making, hope you enjoy and marvel as I did.

Remember, my January Website's 12th Birthday Sale commences tomorrow.

    1. Even John said how incredible and fancy having to start again if snow fell? Brilliant. Just wish I could've made the images larger as I had seen. Thanks,
