Recently I received a beautiful gift in the mail from a dear friend.  Carol is an expert in Stumpwork by Machine and she converted a Micnali Design for Machine Embroidery into this exquisite masterpiece.  Thought I'd like to share it with you.
It's all three-dimensional and the bird is so real looking perched on the branch.  Notice the realism in the flowers too.
Aren't I just the lucky one?

Hardly seems like we've had time to catch our breath these last few weeks with the very successful Craft & Quilt Fair at Darling Harbour in Sydney, now followed by the Textile Art Festival in Brisbane.  Two days before we left home for Darling Harbour, we had our new van delivered.  Still to be fitted out with exactly how we want it to carry our stock, but it's maiden journey to Sydney was a story and a half; first of all, getting it in time, then trying to get it registered on a Saturday morning of a long weekend, then having all the fittings compatible with our trailer.  Here's John giving it a lick and a polish before we left.
"Kid with another new toy!"
