Machine Embroidery Day Three

Day Three was the last day of our Machine Embroidery Retreat for 2013 - students ran out of time to learn all the techniques we had prepared for them - GREAT excuse to return for the 2014 Retreat. You should be considering it too, remember places are limited.

They all enjoyed embroidering over Angelina Fibre, pressed into a fabric; though one embroidered over the fluffy type Angelina and another over Angelina Film.  It certainly gives a beautiful shimmering effect, like mother-of-pearl iridescent appeal.

Sewing on sheer fabrics, sewing fringed flowers, cutwork designs, sewing over textured fabric - students pleated fabric then embroidered over it.

Sewing with a wing needle and learning how to use The Sewing Revolution making a tablecloth brought great self-satisfaction.

Making a zippered purse ALL in the hoop, including sewing the zipper in whilst all hooped - amazing techniques are available these days.

We had a few students who had attended previous Retreats, so they made a quilt top and quilted in the hoop, learnt how to join blocks and even did some paper piecing - all in the hoop, of course!

As I said, they were busy, busy, busy all day.

What a happy group proudly showing some of the projects they completed!

So, as the sun set slowly in the west, another Machine Embroidery Retreat came to a close - though we did enjoy another home-made meal together whilst we socialized in our home.
(Don't we have amazing sunsets behind The Rock?)

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR JOINING US AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR TUTOR ROBYN AND TO THE GUYS WHO ENJOYED HELPING JOHN AROUND THE FARM!
WONDERFUL TIME HAD BY ALL.
