JANET HOLLAND for her quilt "BOSTON RHAPSODY"
Janet said this was her interpretation of a pattern originated from a Sampler Quilt made in 1852 by 'The Sunday School Scholars' of the Bulfinch Street Church in Boston. Her husband, David, drafted the pattern for her. Quilt measures 225cm square. Hand pieced and machine quilted on a track mounted system with stitch regulator by VICKI JENKIN.

Shirley said that "the stars were part of a 12 month challenge with the Friday girls at Somerset Patchwork. I made one star every day of the year and every star has 2 fabrics, with no fabric repeated." Hand-pieced and hand-quilted.

Quilt measures 184 x 212cm
Glad said her quilt was inspired by a quilted kimono pattern by Deborah Renner, using a centre panel featuring cranes & peony roses. It is machine appliquéd, pieced, bead embellishment & machine quilted on a stationary machine.

for her quilt "SMITHSONIAN STARS"

Robyn said this was her own original design, inspired by a quilt in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History - 'Reverse Applique Quilt'.
It is hand appliqued, machine pieces & machine quilted on a track mounted system with stitch regulator by ELIZABETH ZABINSK.

"HEARTS DESIRE, MY HEART IS BLUE" by WENDY LAIRD
Designed by Esther Aliu as on online mystery quilt pattern, Wendy said this was her first attempt at applique. The fabrics, colour scheme and slight alterations to the original design were her own choices.

Exciting Show - I certainly hope all those who live in Sydney and surrounds may visit. For full particulars visit the show organizer's website. FREE Ferry or Bus from Darling Harbour, so you could travel to Darling Harbour where the Show has previously been held, then for an exciting trip on the Ferry to the fantastic new venue.
The work these quilters do, is just brilliant. The hours that are spent by yourself to keep us up to date on such happenings is much appreciated.Think you.
